Call to Worship

Welcome.  In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I welcome you all this morning and invite you to worship the Lord.

Hear the Word of God:
Psalm 113:1-9,
1Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord! Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and forevermore!
From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised! The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens!
Who is like the Lord our God, who is seated on high,
who looks far down on the heavens and the earth?
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap,
to make them sit with princes, with the princes of his people.
He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the Lord!

Prayer of Praise
Lord we want to praise you this morning for you are the Lord of heaven and earth.  You are high and lifted up.  You are above all nations.  You are holy.  And you have looked on our lowly estate and you have poured out your grace.  Lord we ask that you would fill us with your Spirit this morning and hear our praises as we seek to glorify your name.  In Jesus name, Amen.

Song 2: All Creatures of Our God and King (Praise)

COngregational Reading (Confession/repentence)
21 …I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. 22 For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, 23 but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. 24 Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.

Intro to: for all the saints (Hebrews 11:1, 12:1-2)
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.  For by it the people of old received their commendation. …since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,  looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Song 4: For all the Saints (COnfession/pardon)

Prayer of thanks for the offering (Hebrews 10:19-25)

19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Heavenly Father, we come to you this morning trusting only in the blood of Jesus to worship you, to praise you, to confess our sins to you, to thank you for all of your good gifts, and to faithfully give of our abundance in response to your abundant grace and mercy that you have poured out on us.  Lord we ask for your continued favor, that you would continue to fill us to overflowing so that we can be channels of your good gifts.  That others may see and that others may hear and glorify you.  Lord we bring this offering to you with joyous hearts in response to what you have done trusting that you will continue to provide.  Lord abide with us now.  In Jesus name, Amen.
